What a difference a year makes

This time last year, abba was telling me how miserable it was to be a Chicago Cubs fan. "God knows how long it will be before you see the Cubs win anything,
he told me. Well, I guess I'm good luck, because....

I love it when Nana comes to babysit, because she always brings me coffee. Well, not actual coffee, but the cup. And I look so cool drinking it.


See, my abba is kind of a technology geek. So, I really want to take after him: I try and make important calls on his cell phone, I play Wii, I turn on the TV and the VCR, I turn off our answering machine all the time (sorry to everyone that tries to leave messages here, I just think it's funny)...and of course I like the computer. So I'm taking some small "baby steps" if you will by learning how to use the keyboard with Elmo. Take a look.

The beauty of gibberish

I figured that since I have this walking thing down, I might as well start to learn how to talk. I mean, I don't really know many words other than "Mama," "Banana," "Nana," and Neh-Neh (my pacifier) - but I'm workin' on it. Check me out with this awesome gibberish.

So I went swimming instead!

Thank God I'm a Jewish Boy

It's been about a week since we last spoke (hi everyone, by the way) but it's been an eventful one. Walking is now my primary mode of transportation, because crawling is for sissies. And babies. I walk absolutely everywhere, got a sweet pair of walking shoes, and am ready to take on the world.

Of course, as Spiderman says, with great power comes great responsibility : I should use my newfound powers for good. But, it's fun to break stuff, run around like a maniac, get into things I'm not supposed to be getting into, etc - so I don't.

I love my Bubbie Rose. But let's be honest, they didn't give the best English lessons in Romania.

Anyway, she asked me a couple of weeks ago "vere my teets" were. I assured her while I won't be getting "teets" anytime soon, I would probably get some teeth. So hopefully the fact that I sprouted my first tooth last week (took it long enough) should make her happy. I don't leave my mouth open long enough for mommy and abba to get a shot of it, but instead here are some pictures from the past few weeks.

Also, my walking is pretty sweet now. I can mosey on down the entire hallway and take about 20-25 steps before I fall down.

One Year Old (and one week) pictures

Walka Walka Walka

First I want to let you know that the reason for infrequency of new pictures and video has nothing to do with Mommy and Abba slacking off. They actually have a ton of stuff they want to put on here, but unfortunately Abba made a stupid move and upgraded to Windows Vista. He tells me that it's the worst operating system he ever had and that pretty soon we'll be switching to Mac's so that we don't have to deal with this [poop].*

One very exciting thing that's happened is that mommy and abba bought me a house. No, nota dog house or something like that, but a real house. It's in Skokie and it has plenty of room for me to terrorize and destroy and make a mess of everything. I can't wait to live in it, and I also can't wait to get scholarships for everything I do so that mommy and abba won't have to pay any tuition for me for the rest of my life. Sounds fair.

I had a great visit last week with my whole family on Mommy's side, I even got to meet Jonas' girlfriend Jen. I liked her a lot because she was fun; but most importantly she kept giving me cheese. She's a keeper.

While I'm not full-fledged walking yet, I'm taking a few steps at a time. Here's a video of some of my progress.

Pictures from the best birthday party I've ever had

So today I'm officially a one year old. Not a newborn, not baby, not an infant, but a toddler. Except not really 'cuz I'm not toddling yet. I did, however, take my first step today - on my first birthday! How awesome was that! And both my mommy and abba were around to see it.

Anyway, here are some great pictures from my party. My mommy made me my very own ducky cake, which as you can see was awesome - and another cake for everybody else.

.....are coming after this post. I had a super time at my party today and so many of my friends and family were there, it was really special. Plus, I got a lot of sweet toys too! We'll talk about the party in a few days.

Now though, I'll recap my first 4th of July....Mommy and abba decided it was time for a vacation; so they left me at nana and grandpa's in Milwaukee. I had a blast with nana, grandpa and aunt Meira - I really appreciate them taking care of me whilst mommy and abba pampered themselves at day-spas and what not.

Anyway here is a great video of me doing several things:
1) My favorite morning activity is "geronimo" - I crawl onto my parents bed furniture, and then jump off into the pillows. Great fun.
2) I never can decided which pacifier I like the most. So mommy and abba did a test.
3) Nana bought me a pool in Milwaukee, so I was chillin in there.
4) When I was in Milwaukee, I went to the zoo for the first time!
5) Lastly, some footage of me playing with habie, who just moved to Chicago this past week with his family!!

A lot's been happening lately - Habie and his mommy and daddy have been staying with us for the past few days, since they are moving to Chicago and I'll finally be reunited with my best friend! Mommy and abba also think they found a house for me; hopefully we'll move in soon so I can begin to destroy the place ASAP.
