We call the blog "BabySugar" for a reason

As you know, this blog is predominantly written in Ethan's voice. Forgive me, for a moment, as we step out of that framework.





We are extremely excited to announce that G-d willing, we are expecting a new member of our family around the end of April 09! The blog will continue to chronicle Ethan's journey into big brotherhood (When initially told about Shaina's pregnancy, Ethan said very clearly - "NO BABY! NO BABY MOMMY TUMMY!") So we'll have to work on that.

In other news, Ethan is a pro at pre-school. We have received many a beautiful art project and he comes home singing different songs that makes us proud we spent a fortune on Jewish pre-school.

We're really excited about this next phase in our lives and we hope to share many more happy occasions with everybody in the future.

Also a mazal tov to our great friends Noah and Suzanne Mishkin on the birth of a gorgeous baby boy yesterday afternoon!

The nuptials of Aunt "Mei Mei" and Uncle "Jot"

It was the wedding of the century.

Beautiful building. Beautiful bride. Beautiful groom.

And then there was me, being a beautiful...terror. I was not such a happy camper the night of the wedding, but I did have a good time. And - I was asked to walk down the aisle - I didn't cooperate - I RAN down the aisle to go get some balloons that were at the end of it.

And I miss my aunt and uncle already. Here is some footage!

Nana and granpda came over a few weeks ago to play outside. They put me right to work by having me wash grandpa's car. Diapers and lolipops aren't cheap, y'know - someone has to work for them.

Happy Birthday to Me

Holy smokes, I'm two! I can't believe it. I had a great time at my party...bubble machines, swimming pools, bouncy pits...and hippo cake! God, my mommy is awesome. here are some pictures of the party and some other random stuff. I was going to put a video on here but Abba said Google Video was being stupid.

I love animals so much it should probably be my religion.

On Sunday we went to the zoo with Bubbie and I had a flippin' sweet time. I'd been to the zoo two times before, but haven't really fully appreciated it - I did this time, though. There was also a guy playing a violin, so naturally I had to harass him until he played the alphabet song for me.

I am really growing pretty fast and am putting together 3 and 4 word sentences at a rapid pace. My new favorite word is "money." I guess I am related to Uncle Stephen after all.

Father's day camera phone video

To show my abba just how manly I am on father's day, I jumped in the mud with my clothes on, dumped in my pants, and shoved food in my face. Can't get any manlier than that.

Mommy threw a great party for abba by organizing a secret softball game. Everyone had a great time, including me, as you can see.

Catching Up

I've done a lot in the past 2 weeks. I'm now putting together 3 or 4 word sentences - even if they very rarely make sense - and having a lot of fun with talking. The weather is finally getting better here in Chicago, so now I can enjoy the new house's yard and the park across the street! We had a great time at Nana and Grandpa's for Pesach with Bubbie, Uncle Jonas (who I call "Unka Joe") and Aunt Mei (who I call "Ah Maman," or affectionately, "Aunt Monkey.") I can now identify some words on paper - especially my name - which is apparently "Eh-nan".

My visit to Fla with Yaya

We just got back from a great vacation visiting Zayde (I call him Yaya, by the way) and Bubbe Judy in Florida. We were all primed to have a great time until...I got sick as a dog on the way there. Yup, I was "that kid" on the plane that everyone hates. I had a fever the whole time and a cough that could wake the dead, but that didn't stop me from having a great time when we got there. We WENT TO THE ZOO! Since I love animals so much, I think Mommy and Abba were expecting me to go bananas when I saw all the live animals. I was excited, but not so much.
